This will be a difficult weekend for Freckles, as was last night. Freckles was owner relinquished with her daughter Penny a week ago, due to family moving and not taking the pair with them. Penny was adopted into a lovely home yesterday. Freckles has never been without her baby girl; another devastating loss on the heals of losing her home and family. Comforting arms and the promise of a forever h...ome are greatly needed for this little 2 to 3yo girl who is housebroken and feeling so lost with nothing left of her former life. Her heritage appears to be possible for a mix including: chihuahua, rat terrier or toy fox terrier.

NOTE: Videos of Shiloh and the other cat room kitties at the shelter can be viewed in the VIDEOS section of our Facebook page.

Shiloh is a 1 1/2 yr. old female who came in with her sister Patty as owner relinquishments. Patty was adopted shortly after arrival, leaving Shiloh without her sibling to play with.  She is sometimes confused with Dot at the shelter, who has a similar face. She came to us on 9/24/14, which means she has spent most of her life here in the shelter.  She wishes for a loving forever home and would be a very sweet pet! View a video of Shiloh in the videos section of our facebook page.

About Our Adoption Center

Say HI to our manager Kathi Torpy!

Our Adoption Center has wonderful staff & volunteers who keep things running smoothly. Manager Kathi Torpy keeps up with all administrative things in our humane society, helps out visitors, plus other things too numerous to mention! Jenny Mann is Senior Kennels Manager, caring for our cat, kitten and puppy room as well, and Chris Owens is our Kennel Manager. Our staff and volunteers are all wonderful people with big hearts, and they work tirelessly to make our Adoption Center pleasant, not only for our animals, but our visitors, too! We’ve long been known for having a very clean facility, and work very hard to keep it that way. But we want it to be a fun place, too!
Rest in Peace - our resident "manager" Otis... Crossed the Rainbow Bridge 2014.
We always appreciate your comments and suggestions! Ask at the Adoption Center about volunteer opportunities... Volunteers make it possible for us to help our pets.  And check out our Volunteers Corner!

* Georgia Law requires that your cat or dog have a rabies shot. If the pet already has a rabies shot, we will have a tag for you. If not, you will get it from your vet; just take your adoption certificate with you, & the vet will give you the tag.
** Most of our Adoption Center animals will already be spayed or neutered, but younger puppies, kittens, and some adults that recently came into the shelter will not be fixed. Because we do not have a veterinarian on site, we will give you a certificate to present to your vet for the surgery. We have a list of local vets that accept this certificate as full payment for the surgery, but if you choose to use your own and they charge more, you will be responsible for the difference. Some vets will charge additional fees for pain medication after the surgery. Speak to your vet about their policies. If there are any questions, call the Humane Society, or speak to your veterinarian.
^ Optional partial test costs (heartworm test for dogs or feline leukemia test for cats) are included in adoption price
