Benny

Benny is a catahoula mix youngster with pretty merle markings who arrived in May 2014. He was 8 weeks of age when entering shelter care. When he was a little chubby puppy there were numerous adopters interested in him but none of them wanted to undertake the surgical correction of his prolapsed tear duct (cherry eye). When he was old enough to be neutered, the cherry eye was also corrected. All t...he adopters from his little puppy days were nowhere to be found once he was in the peak of health. Benny was evaluated in the home of a volunteer to assess his adaptability and was deemed to be a fast learner of expectations. He is working on house training skills and he is crate trained. Friendly and playful with dogs. He also enjoys bath time and was found to be a very quiet dog when left alone.. Benny's adoption process will include an application and home visit. Daisy

NOTE: Videos of Daisy and the other cat room kitties at the shelter can be viewed in the VIDEOS section of our Facebook page.

Day after day, Daisy sits patiently waiting for someone to want her. Daisy was only 6 mon old when she arrived in March 2014. She has been in shelter care for more than 10 months. She is a small girl with little white socks and a lovely tuxedo bib set off by mint green eyes. She is very friendly t...o the other cats and lives well in a multi cat environment. She will also adapt fine to be an only cat as she is content to observe the world from her designated space of the day. (It has been noted that she and Danny are long term good buddies should anyone be looking for a pair of easy to live with kitties).

About Our Adoption Center

Say HI to our manager Kathi Torpy!

Our Adoption Center has wonderful staff & volunteers who keep things running smoothly. Manager Kathi Torpy keeps up with all administrative things in our humane society, helps out visitors, plus other things too numerous to mention! Jenny Mann is Senior Kennels Manager, caring for our cat, kitten and puppy room as well, and Chris Owens is our Kennel Manager. Our staff and volunteers are all wonderful people with big hearts, and they work tirelessly to make our Adoption Center pleasant, not only for our animals, but our visitors, too! We’ve long been known for having a very clean facility, and work very hard to keep it that way. But we want it to be a fun place, too!

$5.50 toward heartworm test ^ $10.00 toward feline leukemia test ^
* Georgia Law requires that your cat or dog have a rabies shot. If the pet already has a rabies shot, we will have a tag for you. If not, you will get it from your vet; just take your adoption certificate with you, & the vet will give you the tag.
** Most of our Adoption Center animals will already be spayed or neutered, but younger puppies, kittens, and some adults that recently came into the shelter will not be fixed. Because we do not have a veterinarian on site, we will give you a certificate to present to your vet for the surgery. We have a list of local vets that accept this certificate as full payment for the surgery, but if you choose to use your own and they charge more, you will be responsible for the difference. Some vets will charge additional fees for pain medication after the surgery. Speak to your vet about their policies. If there are any questions, call the Humane Society, or speak to your veterinarian.
^ Optional partial test costs (heartworm test for dogs or feline leukemia test for cats) are included in adoption price
