The application process typically takes 2 to 3 business days. Delays can be experienced due to incomplete/unintelligible/inaccurate information, holidays and an excessive number of applications. Applicants receive a call from the follow-up CSHS representative to discuss the needs and requirements of the desired animal and answer all questions. In order to avoid a processing delay, it is advisable to inform veterinary offices, landlords and property managers that they will be contacted and that you give permission to share the information needed to complete the application process.

Applications are accepted until the home is found which is felt to be the best fit for the lifetime needs of the animal. We do not adhere to "first come, first served." An applicant may not be chosen to adopt the animal for which they applied, but they may still be approved to adopt a different animal from CSHS if the needs of another animal are similar. All applicants will be notified as to the outcome of their application.
